Description
Pappy Van Winkle’s Family Reserve Barrel Fermented cigars begin with a tradition that runs deep in Kentucky soil. Fire cured tobacco, crafted the old fashioned way in the heart of bourbon country, forms the soul of this blend. That smoky leaf is the foundation, but what happens next is where the legend truly takes shape. After curing, the dense Kentucky tobacco is sent to Louisiana, where it is packed into retired Pappy Van Winkle bourbon barrels for a rare and time honored perique style fermentation. Under intense pressure inside those seasoned barrels, the leaves absorb the character of the wood and the spirit it once held. This meticulous process, carried out in Saint James Parish, transforms the tobacco over time, building depth that cannot be rushed. Drew Estate partnered directly with Pappy and Company and members of the Van Winkle family to bring this project to life. Once the barrel fermentation is complete, the matured Kentucky leaf is blended with carefully selected Nicaraguan fillers and rolled by hand. After a patient three year journey, the result is a cigar layered with charred oak, hints of smoky peat reminiscent of fine Scotch, and a bold core of dark roasted coffee. It is a rich, savory experience that honors both cigar heritage and bourbon tradition in every draw. **Call for availability (800) 730-2087
