The blend stays true to the original Don Carlos recipe, using the same carefully selected tobaccos, but the aging and finishing process sets this edition apart. After rolling, the cigar is finished solely with its traditional Cameroon wrapper and set aside to age for an entire year. Once that first rest is complete, a Dominican Corojo wrapper is added over the Cameroon, and the cigar returns to the aging room for another full year. The result is a layered expression that rewards patience and precision. On the palate, the Don Carlos signature remains unmistakable. Notes of cedar, roasted nuts, and baking spice form the familiar core, while the added Corojo introduces a subtle sweetness and a fuller, more rounded finish.
